AITU AI10 – A Groundbreaking Single-Needle Lockstitch Machine with an AI Module

The AITU AI10 is the first single-needle lockstitch machine on the market to combine the operator’s experience with the capabilities of advanced artificial intelligence. It has been designed for modern production facilities where productivity, repeatability, high sewing quality, and full process control are essential.

The Sky Fox AI vision system installed in the machine uses a camera and intelligent algorithms to continuously monitor the sewing process. It analyses each stage of the operation, measures completion times, and identifies areas requiring optimisation. This helps improve productivity, accelerate the training of new operators, and standardise production procedures throughout the factory.

The AITU AI10 features a fully digital material feed system operated directly from the control panel. Two independent stepper motors precisely control the height, speed, tilt angle, and movement trajectory of the feed dogs. This allows the material feeding method to be accurately adjusted to suit its type, thickness, and properties, ensuring high stitch quality and complete repeatability. Proven operating parameters can be stored in the machine’s memory and reused for subsequent production orders.

The semi-dry head significantly reduces the risk of oil staining on sewn products. The upper section of the mechanism does not require conventional lubrication thanks to the use of modern bearings and a synchronous belt drive. Oil is supplied only to the hook, and the amount can be precisely adjusted electronically from the control panel.

A high-quality finish is ensured by the dual thread-trimming mechanism, which leaves thread ends shorter than 3 mm. Combined with the anti-bird’s-nest function, the system eliminates visible thread remnants on both sides of the material. This reduces the need for manual cleaning of finished components and shortens production time.

Electronic thread-tension adjustment guarantees stable parameters and an even stitch in every production batch. Dedicated settings can be saved separately for individual materials and products, speeding up machine changeovers and reducing the risk of errors caused by manual adjustments.

An integrated sensor continuously measures the thickness of the material being sewn and automatically adjusts the operating parameters. As a result, the machine maintains an even and attractive stitch when sewing over thicker sections and when handling non-uniform or demanding fabrics, while minimising the risk of skipped stitches.

The AITU AI10 enables complete configurations to be saved for individual products. When changing production items, the operator simply scans the relevant QR code, and the machine automatically loads the assigned settings, including thread tension, feed parameters, and stitch length. This ensures a fast start-up and highly repeatable results regardless of the operator.

The machine is also designed for Industry 4.0 environments. It can be integrated with factory overhead conveyor systems as well as MES- and ERP-class software. Real-time, two-way data exchange supports production planning, productivity analysis, and line optimisation, helping factories make the most of their production capacity.

In addition, the AITU AI10 features a cut-thread suction system that helps keep both the workstation and sewn components clean. This function requires the machine to be connected to a compressed-air supply.
